Well, friends, it’s a new year and I have several blog post ideas from last year that never came to fruition. They are still sitting in my draft box.
My goal has always been to come out with 1 or 2 blog posts per month, but that hasn’t happened for several reasons.
One thing I’ve been struggling with is deciding what direction I want to go in with this blog. As my son has become a true toddler, my perspective on keeping a tidy home has changed TREMENDOUSLY. It’s no longer the walk in the park it used to be.
I confess: I had been feeling a little inadequate and unqualified to be dishing out advice on how to keep a tidy home. I was even thinking about scrapping the whole blog because my motivation was that low and my self-doubts were high.
But I came to a realization.
I am not an expert on keeping a tidy home. My home is not spotless. We have crumbs on every surface and toys scattered all over the floor.
Despite all of that, the concepts I’ve shared in past posts are still things I strongly believe in. I am still determined to find easy and affordable solutions to organizing and tidying your home. I am still an advocate for living with less and getting rid of the excess “stuff” that clutters our homes. I still believe our environments can affect our emotions, our motivation, and mental well-being.
But I definitely can see that a perfectly tidy home is not always attainable. Sometimes we all need a healthy dose of reality. Messes will happen. They are a part of life, and they’ll never truly stop.
I may not be able to offer you fool-proof ways to keep your home spotless, but maybe we can find some ways that make the messes more manageable. I can’t offer any guarantees, but I can offer a listening ear and some comradery for those of you trying to shuffle your way through the maze of organizing. At the very least, hopefully, we can share some laughs about it all and remind each other of what’s really important. (Hint: it’s not having an HGTV, Pinterest-worthy home.)
I want to thank those of you who are sticking it out with me and continuing to read and offer feedback. You’re why I keep coming back!
‘Til next time friends!
